Wrestlers Who Would Make Great Additions To The WWE UK Division

It’s safe to say that the WWE UK hype has really died down in the past few months, with Pete Dunne making sporadic appearances on NXT and defending the UK Championship on ICW and PROGRESS shows, there is not much going on with the UK division. Currently WWE seem to be focusing on five wrestlers from the UK tournament but if they are to actually build upon this and create a proper roster then they will need to bring in some more names, so I’ve decided to create a shortlist of names that I think would be a good addition to a growing UK division.

Mark Haskins

Mark Haskins could easily be the next big star for the WWE UK division, he has been a driving force behind PROGRESS in the past couple years, having great match after great match and bringing a huge level of intensity to his matches. Haskins has had some fantastic matches with Pete Dunne, Tyler Bate, Mark Andrews and Trent Seven, so you could slot him straight in to the title picture with ease and it would highlight how strong the British scene is. With international experience he would have no problem

BT Gunn

BT Gunn is arguably the biggest star in ICW right now and is on his way to headline their biggest show of the year. Putting on consistently great matches all over the country, Gunn would be a huge asset for WWE’s UK Division. Having already competed for the UK Championship recently at ICW’s Shug’s Hoose Party against Pete Dunne, Trent Seven and Wolfgang, he has proven that he can hang with the top names in the UK division. His unique look and hard-hitting style could add an extra edge to the division, something that it is missing.

Zack Gibson

I would be willing to guarantee that if it hadn’t been for the fact that he had signed a contract with ITV’s World of Sport, Zack Gibson would have been one of the names in the WWE UK Tournament. A lot like the current WWE UK Champion, Pete Dunne, Gibson is one of the best in the world at making people hate him which is something that WWE would really need to build a division around. He is by far one of the best in the country and if WWE wanted to bulk out their UK division, they would be stupid not to get him on board.

Morgan Webster

Morgan Webster is by far one of the top names in the UK right now and would have been an easy choice for the United Kingdom Tournament had he not been out injured at the time. With his work in PROGRESS and his recent endeavours in PWG, Flash is building himself a well-known name across the world which is something the WWE UK division could really use. With his unique look and in ring style, he could easily become a big part of the division.

Martin Kirby

Kirby has been one of the best wrestlers in the UK for years now and has recently gained a great level of exposure through his work with What Culture Pro Wrestling. WWE have been shining a light on a lot of the up and coming British names, however it would be great to see more people like Wolfgang who have been on top of the British scene for years and Martin Kirby would be a great example of this. If you’ve seen Kirby’s work in WCPW you’ll know that he has bags of charisma and works so well in front of a camera so he would fit right in to WWE UK.

Kenny Williams

As one of the best cruiserweights in the UK, Kenny Williams has been doing great things over the past couple years, especially in ICW. He is an underdog with bags of charisma who can win over any crowd he is in front of. His recent match with KUSHIDA in the WCPW Pro Wrestling World Cup was a great showcase for what Kenny can do on a big stage, while his match with Ricochet at ICW’s Square Go this year shows exactly what he can do with another great cruiserweight. The likes of Williams vs Mark Andrews could easily steal a WWE show.

Damien

Damien is a real hidden gem on the British scene. One of the franchise players in WrestleZone, he has been putting on fantastic matches, including his recent match with former WWE UK Champion Tyler Bate at Battle of the Nations. He has a very interesting character that I feel like WWE could build upon and the fact that he hasn’t had much exposure out with the north-east of Scotland would be great for bringing him in with a clean slate and showing him to a brand new audience.

Chris Brookes

Chris Brookes has really come into his own over the past few years and is arguably one of the bigger names in the UK right now. Like a lot of the people on this list, he has a lot of charisma and could more than handle himself alongside the current WWE UK guys. In terms of his in ring work, he is exceptional and I for one would love to see him and Pete Dunne tear it up for the UK Championship at the likes of an NXT Takeover. Brookes has a great look, standing at 6’4” he is literally head and shoulders above a lot of the British superstars making him stand out, something that could go a long way towards becoming one of the more recognisable names in the WWE UK division.

Drew Parker

If you’ve been paying attention to the UK scene recently then you’ll have heard Drew’s name thrown around… if not only for the fact that he got murdered at Project Mayhem… Parker is one of the hottest prospects in the UK today and it would be great to see WWE take on one of the up and coming names on the scene. Being so young, Parker could be a great underdog for the division and could have some amazing matches with the current WWE UK guys.

Charlie Sterling

If you’ve seen Charlie Sterling wrestle then you’ll know exactly why he is on this list. Sterling looks like your stereotypical “WWE” guy, he is tall, in amazing shape and looks like a star… now you add in the fact that he flies around like a cruiserweight and you have someone who WWE could really put to good use. Aside from his physical ability, Sterling has a tonne of charisma and could really do amazing things within the WWE UK division.

Alex Gracie

Gracie has been around for a while on the UK scene but has recently grown into prominence with his appearances for What Culture Pro Wrestling, where he was a part of Prospect with Lucas Archer. He has had some breakout matches with the likes of Zack Sabre Jr and Matt Riddle lately, showing that he can hang with some of the best in the world. I feel like he would be a solid addition to the UK division and would have some great matches.

Chris Ridgeway

Ridgeway is one of the more underrated wrestlers in the UK which still baffles me to this day. Having seen him perform live multiple times, he definitely has the potential to be one of the next big things. He could do great things in the WWE UK division, I’d definitely love to see him and Pete Dunne face off in a WWE ring. With his hard-hitting style he could be another one, like BT Gunn, to bring an edge to the division.
