Kamikaze Pro have confirmed a triple threat match for their August 5th event, ‘Monster II’ at the Aston University in Birmingham.
It has been announced that “The Bruiserweight” Pete Dunne, former Kamikaze Pro Champion; Robbie X and “The Mexican Sensation” El Ligero will compete in a triple threat contest in Birmingham on August 5th.
Kamikaze Pro announced the match with the following:
The 5th match for Kamikaze Pro – Monster II next Friday at Aston Uni will be a triple threat featuring 3 of the top wrestlers in the UK.
‘Bruiserweight’ Pete Dunne
Pete has transformed himself over the last few years and is currently regarded as one of the top wrestlers in the UK. A former Relentless Division Champion, he recently competed in a qualifying match for the WWE Global Cruiserweight Series. It’s seemingly only a matter of time before Pete moves on to receive worldwide acclaim. Dunne was screwed out of the Relentless Division Title at Hostile Takeover 3 and has put in some great performances since against the likes of Timothy Thatcher, Andrew Everett, Travis Banks, Mika The Polish Punisher, Dan Moloney, ‘The Big O’ Omari and teaming with Everett against The Bigger Picture. Pete has taken on some of the world’s best including both his opponents. He will be looking to get a win to get himself back into title contention.
He was the longest reigning champion in Kamikaze Pro history, a reign lasting a monumental 609 days. He won the title from Hardcore Holly in October 2014, he then defended it against Angelico, Andrew Everett, Juventud Guerrera, Magnus, Martin Kirby, El Ligero, Kay Lee Ray, Eddie Dennis, Jonny Storm, Jody Fleisch, Mark Haskins, ‘Dynamite’ Pete Dunne & The Hunter Brothers. Robbie took on all comers and his reign finally came to an end against Clint Margera at our 3rd Anniversary Show in an epic Tables, Ladders & Chairs match. He is a former 2x Money In The Bank winner and a former Relentless Division Champion. There is very little Robbie X hasn’ achieved in Kamikaze Pro. Since losing his Kamikaze Pro Title he hasn’t been on the winning side of things, he will be looking to change that as Aston Uni.
Regarded by many as the top wrestler in the UK. Ligero has been in his fair share of great matches in Kamikaze Pro against Ryan Smile and both of his opponents in this match. He hasn’t lost a 1 on 1 match since February 2015 in Kamikaze so he will be looking to continue that run. At Underground I he took on Shane Strickland in a brilliant match which saw him come out the victor, at Underground II, he took on DJ Z and yet again pulled out another win. Ligero has taken on the world’s best wrestling talent including Sami Zayn, Adrian Neville, Ultimo Dragon, Matt Hardy, Chavo Guerrero, Evan Bourne, Kenny King, The Amazing Red, Jay Lethal, Tommaso Ciampa, Brian Kendrick and Low Ki to much success. A win here would put El Ligero in line for a Kamikaze Pro Title match.
